How to Keep Roses Blooming All Summer

Keep repeat roses blooming all summer by deadheading spent flowers, feeding after each flush, watering deeply and consistently, and watching for disease. Consistency is what sustains the show.

Repeat-blooming roses flower in waves, and a little routine keeps the waves coming. Deadhead faded blooms promptly to redirect energy into new buds, and feed a balanced fertilizer after each major flush to refuel the plant.

Water deeply and regularly so the rose is never drought-stressed, mulch to hold that moisture, and keep foliage healthy by managing disease early. Ease off feeding and deadheading in late summer so the plant can prepare for winter.
